Meet Instructor JeffpilatesMy passion as a teacher is simple: Making the Method appealing to men, many of who would dismiss Pilates as a technique for women only. The founder of the Method was a man who practiced his technique until his last day when he was in his 80s. Men that I have trained, quickly realize that Pilates is as rigorous and demanding as any other strength-training method.
In my decades-long journey with Pilates, I have strived to develop an ever-deepening understanding of the relationship of the two basic elements of the Method: The athletic and the therapeutic. These two elements are strongly linked and a practitioner can achieve both. Simply, the more that athleticism is applied, the greater the sense of physical well-being can be felt. This is obviously becomes more and more critical as one ages, and his or her skeletal system requires a strong set of muscles to support it. |
