Anna Townsend MASTER SPIN INSTRUCTOR PILATES- BARRE- STRENGTH FAVOURITE CLASS AT THE FITNESS ROOM: It changes every couple months, but I am loving Pilates! also...spin...also strength! FAVOURITE TYPE OF WORKOUT: I love being in tune with what my body wants and needs. Some days I need a good sweat, while other days I want a slower more mind body experience. I truly to listen to my body and do what feels good. BEST PART OF BEING AN INSTRUCTOR: The motivation and support of the group. Even if it is sometimes unspoken, there is a deep camaraderie that comes from showing up for each other. It truly changes the direction of my day. FAVOURITE TYPE OF WORKOUT: Anything that makes me feel stronger! If I’m not spinning I love lifting moderate to heavy weights for strength training. BEST PART OF BEING AN INSTRUCTOR: Seeing consistent member participation and growth💛 INTERESTED IN PRIVATE SESSIONS: Erica completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Dalhousie University ’18) and a Masters in Kinesiology (Wilfrid Laurier University ’20). She has coached youth ringette athletes on the ice and off the ice focusing on conditioning. BEST PART OF TEACHING FITNESS CLASSES: : For me it’s all about giving back to the community and helping others feel healthy, strong and energized. WHATS ON MY PLAYLIST? I feel music is such an important part of the class experience. I try to mix up my playlist so there is variety! My playlist usually includes a mix of current radio hits, dance tunes and lots of fun throwbacks :) Bailee Ewing BARRE WHERE YOU CAN FIND ME OUTSIDE OF CLASS? You can find me serving at the Keg at night or at Nova Spinal Care and studying during the day. The mall, coffee shop or movie marathons with my boyfriend on a good day! WHATS ON YOUR PLAYLIST? My playlist is like my moods: always changing. I'm a gemini so I get bored of the same things. I love some pop, hip hop and alternative. You will always find a Post Malone song on my playlist because he’s my favourite artist! BEST PART OF TEACHING: I love teaching barre because it reminds me of dancing and teaching dance. I started dancing at the age of 4 and I started teaching when I was 14. It's always been a passion of mine. Growing up with a mother who is incredibly active I have always wanted to teach a fitness class of my own. Barre is a fun way to use those muscles we forget about, while jamming to a good playlist! Natalie Lavery Master Spin instructor STRENGTH-FHIITCAMP WHY DO I TEACH: I teach spin because I love to ride the bike and I love to sweat. WHEN I AM NOT ON THE BIKE: When I’m not teaching I am outside with my pets, riding my bike, dancing or cooking! I am a huge advocate of mental health as I have struggled in the past and there’s nothing more fulfilling to me than knowing I am contributing to someone else’s journey to self love, wellness and mental/ physical health. This is my 8th year teaching Group Fitness and it has completed me. I feel music in my soul and I love sharing that with others. It is amazing to see and feel the deep connections and friendships that are created with Group Fitness. I love the strong tribe that is formed so organically. WHEN I AM NOT TEACHING: I am a mom, an Accounting Manager and a CPA student. My plate and heart are always full. I love taking walks and exploring our beautiful neighborhood of Spryfield and am proud to be born and raised here in this community IG: @jill.anderson Sylvia Colley Ewing FHIITCAMP- STRENGTH MY FAVOURITE CLASS: FHIITCAMP! Pushing the heart rate and then bringing it back down only to challenge yourself to get back at it again. I do like the occasional long run to clear the mind and be with myself FAVOURITE PART OF BEING AN INSTRUCTOR: Watching people grow and become a better version of themselves which they thought couldn’t happen. It’s the small things you watch them celebrate which is a great sight to see. I love giving that positive feedback at every step of the way. WHEN I AM NOT TEACHING: I am a Social Worker working as an Area Manager at Northwood. I get to work with great staff and residents. At the end of the day I head home to my family that use to consist of six of us that soon will dwindled down to 3. I love being a mom and motivating them to be great human. Jenna Haley SPIN FAVOURITE FITNESS ROOM CLASS? It is definitely spin, but I also love taking the occasional strengthen and lengthen class! WHATS ON YOUR PLAYLIST? A little of everything! I love heavy bass tracks that make you feel powerful- hip hop, pop and fun throwback songs, that make you want to dance or sing along - and I absolutely love Taylor Swift, Drake and Eminem (if I can work one of their songs into a playlist, I absolutely will)! WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU OUTSIDE OF CLASS? My background is in biomedical engineering technology and I work full time with this, for a medical company! If I’m not working or spinning you can usually find me hanging out with my puppy and boyfriend, or exploring the city (since we’re still kind of new here). |
Meghan Mcleod Master spin instructor WHY DO I TEACH: I teach because I truly love and thrive sweating with people (#sweatdates), and I want to share with others the joy of exercise, good music, awesome friends, culminating in an amazing workout! Usually in my kitchen cooking or baking something. Or I’m at the hockey rink. WHATS ON YOUR PLAYLIST? There’s a little bit of everything on my playlists. From Elvis, to 90s grunge, to Motley Crüe, to the Chicago soundtrack. BEST PART OF TEACHING: The energy you can feel during class. And seeing participants smile at the end. When they feel so accomplished and proud of themselves. Darcie Bellefontaine SPIN FAVOURITE FITNESS ROOM CLASS: Spin! It’s truly a form of therapy for me. I love the mix of cardio and strength spin has to offer. The music, the lights and the upbeat atmosphere is unmatched! BEST PART OF BEING AN INSTRUCTOR: Spin has been my outlet and something I look forward to every day, so knowing people are coming to class for that same reason is so awesome. It brings me so much joy knowing people are showing up to sweat it out with you! WHERE YOU CAN FIND ME OUTSIDE OF CLASS? I work full time as a registered nurse! I love being outside, going on runs with my dog, and hanging out with friends and family. WHATS ON MY PLAYLIST? My playlist has a little bit of everything!
